George Miller WASHINGTON, Iowa #45;- George B. Miller, 79, of 145 Green Meadows Drive, Washington, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at 1015 S. Iowa Ave., Washington, after declining health. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Washington. The Rev. Mark Young will officiate. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, with military rites. Visitation is after 9 a.m. Wednesday, with family present 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Washington. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Washington County or the United Methodist Church, Washington. Mr. Miller was born July 13, 1923, in Ainsworth, the son of Bennie and Zella Schafer Miller. He married Mildred McCaleb Jan. 18, 1954, in Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 1996. He graduated from Washington High School. He lived in Washington most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, United Methodist Church and Land Improvement Contractors of America. Miller and fiance Gary Newman and Connie Mann and husband Joe, all of Muscatine, and Susan E. Ballenger and husband Vic of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Miller and wife Gwen of Wenatchee, Wash. and Duayne Miller and wife Shirley of Muscatine; and a sister, Darleen Lins of Paulsbo, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
