Edwin Doonan ALEDO, Ill. - Edwin L. Doonan, 61, rural Aledo, died Thursday Jan. 30, 2003, at his home. A memorial luncheon will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hamlet Community Hall, Hamlet, Ill., followed by a time of remembrances and sharing with the family. At his request, the body was donated to science. Private burial be held at a later date. Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the donor's favorite charity. Mr. Doonan was born March 11, 1941, in Moline, Ill., the son of Elmer J. and Mildred King Doonan. He married Judith Knock Dec. 17, 1977, in Rock Island, Ill. He graduated from Rockridge High School and from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill. He was an U.S. Marine veteran. He was self-employed as a carpenter and was a member of the Cast Bullet Association and the N.R.A. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed target shooting, having won a national competition.
