Survivors in addition to his wife, Patty, include: three children, Christopher (Alexandra) Smith of Springfield, IL, Braydan Carder, and Lucas Smith, both of Quincy; Grandchildren Allister Forrest, Adela Smith, and one on the way; a sister Karen (Olan) Turner; nieces and nephew, Tamera Turner, Traci (Dwayne) Keiffer, and J.R. Turner; in laws, Marie (Gary) Ellis, Kelly (Priscilla) McElroy, Polly (John) Sprick, and Stacey (John) Edwards; and his two special dogs, Cubby and Chewy. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Debra Glaenzer; and a brother in infancy Danny Smith.
