Eugene V. Pahl

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Eugene V. Pahl, 66, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of the Dixon and Donahue area, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at his home. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant. The Rev. Nancy Hoelter will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Mabyn Fox and vocalist, Henry Bentley. Pallbearers are Steve Treimer, Chris Treimer, Ken Rekemeyer, Loren Niemann, Curt Pahl and Victor Pahl. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, with military rites conducted by the Dixon American Legion Post No. 353. Visitations are 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. A memorial has been established. Mr. Pahl was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Davenport, the son of LeRoy and Frances Koranda Pahl. He married Elaine I. Treimer Dec. 6, 1958, in Davenport. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-57. He farmed in the Dixon and Donahue areas until 1986 when he and his wife moved to Scottsdale. He then was employed as a detention officer for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy McKnight and husband Michael of Poway, Calif. and Cheryl Howie and husband Scott of Cave Creek, Ariz.; a son, Dale Pahl of Phoenix, Arizona; his father, LeRoy Pahl of Davenport; two sisters, Sandra VanHorsten and husband Dick and Karen Pahl, all of Davenport.; two granddaughters, Teylor McKnight and Alexis Howie; and three grandsons, Braden McKnight, Dylan McKnight and Harrison Howie. He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Dean Pahl.
