Jesse Stout WASHINGTON, Iowa #45;- Jesse Lloyd Stout, 85, of 527 W. Madison St., Washington, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at 2390 290th St. after failing in health the past several months. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, 116 E. Main, Washington. The Rev. Richard Boyd will officiate. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington. Visitation is after noon Thursday, with family present from 4-7 p.m. and a 7 p.m. Rebekah Lodge Service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to ODD Fellows Eye Care. Mr. Stout was born on July 21, 1917, in Washington, the son of Jesse Thomas and Daisy McGee Wallace. His mother died in childbirth and he was adopted by Taylor and Glennie Goodman Stout. He married Bonnie Louise Elmore on March 11, 1939, in Freeport, Ill. She preceded him in death in 1986. He spent his childhood on a farm northeast of Brighton. He attended country school and graduated from Brighton High School. He later attended Parsons College, Fairfield. He was a life resident of Washington County. on. He was very active in the ODD Fellow Encampment No. 6 in Fairfield. He joined the lodge in 1945. He held many offices at the local and state level. He was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, joining in 1978 and attended meetings faithfully. Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Stout and his wife, Luz Stella, of Denham Springs, La., Douglas Stout and his wife, Hannah Sue, and Stephen Stout and his wife, Diana, both of Washington; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Vermiella Jarvis and her husband, Carl, of Washington; a brother-in-law, Roy Rogers of Fairfield; and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Ledger of Fairfield and LaVern Wallace of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a grandson, Martin Stout in 1976.
