Herbert P. Naber MUSCATINE, Iowa - Herbert P. Naber, 82, of Muscatine, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Bickford Cottage. Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Walden Askren will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Following interment there will be a luncheon in the Community Room at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in Mr. Naber's name at the funeral home. Mr. Naber was born Jan. 19, 1921, in Muscatine, the son of Bert and Helen M. Schmer Naber. He married Ruth P. Axtell Jan. 3,1942, in Muscatine. He was a life-long resident of Muscatine. He worked for Alcoa, Inc. and retired after 28-years of employment. He enjoyed stock car racing and going to McDonalds for coffee and meeting with his friends. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II and a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge #388 of Muscatine. Warner of Robins, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kira Seek, Aaron Shewbert and Curtis Shewbert; friends Jack and Marian Hillier of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth in 1994; two brothers; and two granddaughters, Melissa Cole in 1994 and Keli Shewbert.
