Essie B. Horton Hanson

ESSIE HORTON HANSON MUSCATINE, Iowa - Essie B. Horton Hanson, 89, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Muscatine Care Center. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tracy Horton, Scott Horton, Bill Jensen, Mike Jensen and David Horton. Burial will be in Conesville Cemetery, Conesville, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hanson was born on Feb. 9, 1914, in Conesville, the daughter of Edward H. and Hettie A. Edgington Crist. Her first marriage was to Francis P. Horton on Dec. 16, 1933, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in December of 1957. She later married Carroll Hanson on June 27, 1964, in Burlington. He preceded her in death in August of 1977. Mrs. Hanson worked at Heinz Company for many years and also the Muscatine Care Center.
