Dorothy Ripley SIOUX FALLS, S.D. #45;- Dorothy E. Ripley, 91, Sioux Falls, formerly of Muscatine, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Dan Schoepf will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Betty Lincoln, organist, and Sara McCleary, vocalist. Pallbearers are Bill Bockewitz, Steven Ripley, Jason Ripley, Michael McCormick, Dawn Davis Lee and Joey Green. Burial will be at Drury Reynolds Cemetery. After the burial, a time of fellowship will be held in the Community Room at the funeral home. Visitation is noon until service time Tuesday, June 24, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc., Development Department, 1501 N.W. Ninth Ave., Miami, FL 33136-1494. Mrs. Ripley was born on June 12, 1912, in Muscatine, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Barnerd Smull. She married Wilbur Ripley on Sept. 16, 1931, in Muscatine. iring in 1977. She lived in Selma Valley, Calif., for 10 years then moved to Carson City, Nev., in 1986. In 1998, she moved to Sioux Falls. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Muscatine. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and loved flowers. Survivors include a son, David Ripley and his wife, Reba, of Bettendorf; three daughters, Janeen Davis of Carson City, Nev., Sharon Ripley of Muscatine and Aleta Carlson and her husband, Alan, of Brandon, S.D.; a brother, Willard Smull of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vonda Lee; a son-in-law, Murph Davis; five brothers, Henry, Cecil, Ralph, Levi and Duard Smull; and two sisters, Fern Pursell and Mary Smull.
