Gene Westfall LONE TREE, Iowa #45;- Gene L. Westfall, 75, Lone Tree, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at his home after a brief illness. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Lone Tree. Loren Yoder will officiate. Pallbearers are Wes Warden, Kevin Westfall, Ronald Brenneman, Raymond Brenneman, Gary Rourke and Ron Cerny. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery with military services conducted by the Lone Tree American Legion Post No. 457. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Friday, July 4, at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Lone Tree. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Westfall was born on Oct. 23, 1927, in River Junction, the son of Steyn and Dorothy Rife Westfall. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from November 1950 to November 1952, serving seven months in Korea. He was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion Post No. 457. He was a farmer. He enjoyed gardening, bank bus trips and traveling to Hot Springs, Ark., to see his son. nd her husband, Scott, of Harrington, Neb., and Vicki Westfall of Iowa City; six grandchildren; two brothers, Eldon 'Bee' Westfall and his wife, Donna, and Loren 'Tootie' Westfall, all of Lone Tree; and a sister, Marilyn 'Peg' Spears of Lone Tree. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet.
