Virgil Fisher BURNSVILLE, Minn. #45;- Virgil L. Fisher, 80, Burnsville, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale, Minn. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty, with military honors. Memorials may be made to Mayo Foundation Medical Research, 200 First St. S.W., Rochester, MN 55905. Mr. Fisher was born May 31, 1923, in Williams, the son of Clarence and Clara Ratzke Fisher. He married Catherine Brooke Nov. 16, 1946, in Huxley. He was employed with the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors, working in Des Moines, Omaha and most recently in Minneapolis until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven of Boulder, Colo.; daughters, JoEllen Fisher and Ben Bryant of Willis, Texas, and Vicki Sieben and her husband, Kevin, of Belle Plaine, Minn.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Gary Fisher of San Angelo, Texas; a sister, Marjorie Popple of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother-in...[more]
