and Jack L. McIntosh moved to Dawson and joined her to form Dawson Homes Inc. In 1979 they sold the nursing home to the Dawson Hospital. She learned to play the piano at a young age. She played in a dance band with her uncles until her grandfather discovered it and stopped it. She played organ for the Lutheran Church in Faulkton for a time. After she retired, she moved back to Forbes, where she spent time with a few of her cousins. She also enjoyed time in Redfield, S.D., with her sister. She spent winters in West Liberty with her daughter's family and in 1981 she purchased a home there. Survivors include a daughter, Gwen McIntosh and her husband, Jack, of West Liberty; grandchildren, Jack Steven McIntosh and his wife, Bonnie, of Iowa City, Brian L. McIntosh of Chicago, James J. McIntosh and his wife, Mandi, of West Liberty, and Andrea J. McIntosh Reyes of Las Vegas; seven great-grandchildren, Dyllon, Braydon, Ryan, Kameron, Madison, Cecilia and Mark; a sister, LaVonne Platte of Redfield; two stepsons, Eugene Peterson and his wife, Sandy, and John Perry Peterson and his wife, Jeanne, of Dawson; seven step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carmen L. Peterson.
