FRANCIS LONGHURST MUSCATINE, Iowa -Francis L. Longhurst, 89, of Muscatine, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at the Lutheran Homes. Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the New Hope United Methodist Church, 3215 Tipton Road. The Reverend Tom Parrott will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A Military Service will be provided by the combined squads of the American Legion and the VFW. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Francis was born on March 16, 1914, in Muscatine, the son of George and Anna Schmer Longhurst. He married Vera E. Soukup, June 29, 1946, in Wilton.
