Hazel Shepherd MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Hazel Shepherd, 95, Muscatine, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the Muscatine Care Center. Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser St. Casket Bearers are Dennis Shepherd, Rodney Shepherd, Lee Varsho, Tom Gorsuch, Mike Connor and Mike McCallister. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Care Center or the family. Mrs. Shepherd was born May 8, 1908, in Muscatine, the daughter of Henry and Eva Leonard Hocke. She first married Arlton McCallister Oct. 16, 1926. She later married Richard Shepherd Feb. 5, 1945. She attended Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Survivors include a son, Richard K. Shepherd and wife Kathleen of Marshfield, Wis.; two daughters, Carolyn Boland and husband James and Barbara Connor and her husband Dewayne, all of Muscatine; eight grandchildren, Dr. Dennis Shepherd and wife Jackie of Elm Grove, Wis., Rodney Shepherd and wife Mary of Hastings, Minn., Vicki Varsho and husband Lee of Marshfield, Wis., ...[more]
