Plymouth Ave. with his siblings, Mike, Angie, Dolly, Mafalda, Gilda, Nick and Mary. During his youth, Carl played football and baseball. Shortly after high school, Carl was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in WWII, earning his rank as Sergeant prior to his discharge in 1946. When Carl returned home from the Army, he took over Petrillo's Bakery with his brother Mike. Carl ran a very successful business and retired from the bakery in 1985. He also had 3 children with his first wife, Marylou; Annette, Adele and Nick. Carl truly enjoyed being social. He went out with friends for Friday night dinners, loved all family gatherings; Christmas, picnics and special occasions. Carl loved to drive, when he retired he got a job driving a school bus. He liked traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He enjoyed watching sports and his favorite teams were the NY Yankees and the San Francisco 49ers. His favorite music was Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline, Barbara Streisand and Tony Bennett. Carl was a man who was full of life and energy! He was very well known in Rochester and even more, very well liked. Carl had a great sense of humor and had a positive attitude in life. He was quick-witted, business savvy and loved to talk and socialize. Carl was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and a friend to many. His happy disposition lite up every room that he entered. Carl's personality had the ability to put a smile on everyone's face when he was around. It was almost impossible to be in a bad mood when spending time with him. He was a blessing to so many people during his life. His spirit was contagious, and his legacy will live on throughout our community. Carl will be deeply missed by so many who loved him and he will always be lovingly remembered by his many friends and family.
