Lawrence J. Cross, Sr. JOY, Illinois - Lawrence J. Cross, Sr., 62 of Joy, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island. Services are 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Fippinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard A. Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the Greenmound Cemetery, New Boston, Ill. Visitation is from noon-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where a memorial fund has been established. Mr. Cross was born March 6, 1941, in New Boston, a son of Cook J. and Lillian I. Weikert Cross. He graduated from Keithsburg High School in 1959. He married Patricia I. Cook Nov. 7, 2003, in Rock Island, Ill. He was employed at John Deere Harvester in Moline, Ill. He enjoyed collecting die cast cars, building bicycles, working on automobiles and listening to country Western and gospel music. Survivors include his father of New Boston, his wife Pat of Joy; one daughter, Linda K. Cross of Colona; two sons and daughter-in-law, Lawrence J. Cross, Jr. of Massachusetts and Randy A. Sr., and Marchell Cross of Ft. Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, James R. Baldwin, Jessica L. Cross and Emma C. Jeskie all of Colona and Randy A. Cross, Jr. and Wyatt L...[more]
