n-law. The family joined him in China in 1947 as part of the post-war occupation forces. He was eventually stationed at Air Force bases in Tacoma, Wash., Albuquerque, N.M., Tucson, Ariz., Plattsburgh, N.Y., Clark Air Base, Philippine Islands, and Long Island, N.Y. While in Plattsburgh, she attended the New York State Teacher's College, earning her master of education degree. After that she taught school until retirement, specializing in grades 1-4 and later in special education classes for elementary school children. They retired in 1975, moving to Heber Springs, Ariz., and eventually to Council Bluffs She had lived in New Franklin, Mo., since 1985. Survivors include a son, Marlin William Hiller of New Franklin; five grandchildren, Justin and Jason Hiller, Laura Moran, Timothy, James and Theresa Jorris; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Hiller. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Marlys Lillian Hiller Sanford and Mariene LaVerne Hiller Jorris; and nine brothers and sisters.
