Mary Jo Sheridan DAVENPORT, Iowa #45;- Mary Jo Sheridan, 81, Davenport, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at the Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Center after a brief illness. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. The delay in burial is due to her request to donate her body to the University of Iowa, Deeded Body Program for Medical Research. Visitation is noon until service time Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the church. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church or to Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Mrs. Sheridan was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Davenport, the daughter of Albert C. and Ottilia Dietz Anderson. She married Joseph Henry Sheridan June 19, 1949, at Holy Family Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death Nov. 14, 2001. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy and attended American Institute of Commerce. She was also a talented seamstress. Survivors include two daughters, Rose Nelson and husband, Doug, of Muscatine and Martha Meyer and John Berk, Mayville, Wis.; three grandchildren, Erika Nelson and husband, Patrik, of Faessler, Aarau, Switzerland, Krista Schell and husband, Brian Schell USMC of Cherry Point, N.C., and Danielle Klink and husband, Andy, of Neosho, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son and two daughters in infancy; and a grandson, Jacob Meyer.
