DANIEL NIETERS MUSCATINE, Iowa - Daniel S. Nieters, 56, of Muscatine, died Saturday, February 28, 2004, at Unity Hospital. There will be a private funeral service with burial to follow at a later date. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Camp Courageous or St. Jude's Hospital. Dan was born on October 16, 1947, in St Louis MO, the son of George and Betty Mann Nieters. He married Linda Phfundstein on May 31, 1969, in Rock Island, IL. He worked at Grain Processing Corp. for 32 ½ years retiring in 1999 as a Quality Circle Coordinator. Dan was an avid golfer and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved his dogs, four Labs and a Newfoundland. Survivors include his wife, Linda Nieters of Muscatine; three daughters, Kris Curtis and husband, Michael, of Muscatine, Stacy Nieters of Austin, Texas, and Amanda Cavazos of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Bethany O'Brien of Muscatine, and Landon Cavazos of Muscatine; his father, George Nieters of Monticello; and one brother, Jon Nieters of Monticello.
