Marie Kleopfer RIVERSIDE, Iowa #45;- Marie Katherine Kleopfer, 80, Riverside, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center, Lone Tree, after a brief illness. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside. The Rev. Rich Adam will officiate. Casket bearers are Chad Kleopfer, Matt Hixson, Brent Hawkins, Casey Kleopfer, Jason Hixson, Sherry Elliot, Lisa Hixson, Jesi Hawkins and Kati Hawkins. Honorary casket bearers are Chase Kleopfer, Jesse Kleopfer, Zachary Kleopfer, Riley Kleopfer and Mollie Kleopfer. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Riverside. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at St. Mary's Parish Center. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, with a 7 p.m. rosary service, at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Riverside. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Mrs. Kleopfer was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Washington County, the daughter of Charles J. and Rose I. Knotek Sojka. She married Robert E. Kleopfer June 7, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside. years and she and her husband farmed for many years southeast of Riverside. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary No. 6414. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, doing needlework and cooking. She also loved watching the Chicago Bulls and Cubs as well as the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Scheetz and husband Steve of Riverside and Kathy Hixson and husband Larry of Brighton; three sons, Douglas Kleopfer and wife Mary and Daniel Kleopfer and wife Lori, all of Riverside, and Thomas Kleopfer and wife Janet of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Vince Sojka and wife Anita of Kalona and Dale Sojka and wife Darlene of Riverside; three sisters, Lorene Cerny of Lone Tree, Betty Stewart and husband Gene and Luella Beenblossom and husband Paul, all of Washington; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harold 'Jake' Sojka; and a sister, Dorothy Wollrab.
