as born in Italy and moved to Africa at age 10. His family owned a farm in Libya where they cultivated a variety of vegatables and produce. In 1955 he immigrated to America (with $20 in his pocket) and worked at Tobin Packing Co. as a meat cutter. In 1958 his was introduced to his beautiful wife Maria and they married in 1959. The DiMarzo family welcomed him into their family with open arms. In 1977, Cristoforo and Maria, together with their three children, opened Faggiano's Italian Fine Foods in the Town of Gates NY. The business became so successful because people came in as customers and left as extended family. His passion for his trade, and hard work built one of the most successfull small businesses in the area. Cristoforo retired in 1992 and spent many winters in his Florida home. His daily routine began with a drive to "The Boys" or" Costco" (always buying more groceries than he needed). He enjoyed spending his time with his friends playing cards, afternoon conversations by the pool and walks on the beach. On Sundays he attended church at St. Lucy and brunch at the Boca Diner. Cristoforo was very dedicated and very proud of his family's accomplishments. His daughter Josephine and son Frank were his very best friends in the world. He looked to his oldest daughter Mary Angela for wisdom, stability and balance and his son-in-law, Amadeo, as his second son. His granddaughters Kristine and Jennifer brought sparkles into his eyes and joy into his heart. Cristoforo truly lived the "American Dream". He will be sadly missed. His love and our memories will remain in our hearts forever.
