MARGARET KILLIAN ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Margaret Amy Killian, 77, a former resident of Muscatine, died Monday, May 17, 2004, at Trinity West Hospital, Rock Island, Illinois. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2004, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Telford Dindinger will officiate. Casketbearers will be Kevin Pollock, Lloyd Levine, Dick Lee, Tim Weis and Thomas Summitt. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Unity Hospital Auxiliary or the Muscatine Humane Society. Mrs. Killian was born on July 28, 1926, in Fairfield, the daughter of Frederick J. and Frances M. Dool Hinkhouse. She married Frank John Killian on August 28, 1949, in Fairfield. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., Unity Hospital Auxiliary, Salvation Army Auxiliary, P.O.E.T.S. Club, and the Muscatine Retired Teachers Association. She graduated from the Fairfield High School in 1944. She received her Bachelors of Art's Degree in Business Education from Parsons College in 1948. one year and later taught English, Typing, and Keyboarding at West Junior High School, retiring in 1987. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed volunteering, working on genealogy and watching Hawkeye football and basketball games. Survivors include one son, Douglas Killian and wife, Jeanne Mowry, of Portland, Oregon; three daughters, Debbie Lee of Rock Island, Cathy Levine and husband, Lloyd, of Des Moines, and Laura Killian and partner, Janet Black, of Akron, Ohio; seven granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, James Hinkhouse and wife, Elsie, of Caswell Beach, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, one granddaughter, Alaina Lee, and the sister she never had, Joy Weis.
