Hilbert Marolf MOSCOW, Iowa #45;- Hilbert E. Marolf, 80, Moscow, died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. The Rev. Dr. David Hottenstein will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Deb Mohr and vocalist, Henry Bentley. Casket bearers are Edgar Kublik, Don Hansen, Leo Ochiltree, Wayne Lincoln, Marvin Hinrichs and Norman Grunder. Honorary casket bearers are Laurie McCollum, Debbie Theobald, Jeff Johnson, Chad Johnson, Dustin Marolf and Kyle Marolf. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, with 7 p.m. Masonic services, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Mr. Marolf was born March 1, 1924, in Cedar County, the son of Edward and Ella Wiese Marolf. He married Lois H. Thurston Jan. 7, 1941, in Muscatine. He farmed his entire life in Cedar County. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Moscow, where he had served as treasurer. He was also a member of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge No. 24, Rochester, the Cedar County Farm Bureau and was a former trustee for the Rochester Cemetery...[more]

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carolyn Paxton and husband, Bob, of Muscatine and Nancy Jean Johnson and husband, Lynn, of Moscow; a son, Jerry Marolf and wife, Dawn, of Moscow; a sister, Hilda Hinrichs and husband, Alvin, of Atalissa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Eric Johnson.
