Maxine Mitchell ALEDO, Ill. #45;- Maxine B. Mitchell, 81, Aledo, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. Carl Stoldt will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Millersburg, Ill. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home for College Avenue Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Mitchell was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Rock Island County, Ill., the daughter of Edgar O. and Anna May Burnett Johnson. She married John L. Mitchell Feb. 1, 1939, in Burlington. He preceded her in death May 13, 1993. She attended Reynolds High School. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of their family farm. She was a member and Sunday school teacher for 10 years at the former Millersburg Presbyterian Church. She was a member and Elder at the former First United Presbyterian, Aledo, and was most recently a member and former Deacon at College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Aledo. She was also a member of the Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary and she enjoyed crafts, dancing, flower gardening and reading. S...[more]

ivors include a son, Jerry Mitchell and wife, Wanda, of Marshfield, Mo.; a daughter, Sandy Bull and husband, Larry, of Aledo; four grandchildren, Lachelle Mitchell of Chicago, Shelby Beebe of Aurora, Ill., and Megan Finch and Blake Bull, both of Aledo; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alma Brown of Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Janice; three brothers; and a sister.
