Doris Edwards MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Doris M. Edwards, 83, Muscatine, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Unity Hospital. Services are 10 a.m. Friday, June 11, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. The Reverend's. Leif Pohl and Ray Corlew will officiate. Musical selections will be performed by Dr. David Wettach, Kirk Larson and Ron Wicks. Casket bearers are Scott Chesling, David Chesling, Dennis Edwards, Jeff Edwards, Randy Thompson, Ray Kingery, Paul Ales, Terry Thompson and Danny Ford. Honorary casket bearers are Stephanie Edwards, Deborah Larson, Jennie Kingery, Christine Wicks and Billie Ruden. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Community Room at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church. Mrs. Edwards was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of Albia and Henrietta M. Andresen Gaines. She married Harvey F. Church and the Women of the Moose. She was an avid supporter of Muscatine High School and was proud to be a graduate of the class of 1937. She had many friends and family that she loved to communicate with through personal greeting cards. She also loved to pass the time reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was employed at Dairy Queen Brazier, Montgomery Ward cafeteria and the MHS cafeteria. Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Edwards and wife, Robyn, and Freddie G. Edwards and wife, Robin, all of Muscatine; a daughter, Patricia M. Chesling and husband, Ralland, of Davenport; a sister, Betty Thompson of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
