Barbara June Thompson

Barbara Thompson, 70, of Kelley, Iowa passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date. Barbara June Taylor was born on June 14, 1950 in Mason City, Iowa to Orlin and Eunice (Tostenson) Taylor. Barb met the love of her life, Gary Thompson, while skating at the local skating rink in Ames. The couple were married on June 21, 1968 and from this union, three children were born: Cheryl, Connie and Brian. Her family describes Barb as a full-of-love type of person that enjoyed shopping, visiting family and birdwatching. Her favorite birds were hummingbirds and orioles; she had special feeders for both. Barb loved the holidays, gift giving, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
