Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. WEBSTER CITY, Iowa - Etta Anna Wendt Harfst, 96, of Webster City, formerly of Muscatine, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 at Southfield Care Center, Webster City. The Rev. Brian Saunders will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Muscatine in Etta's name. Etta Anna Wendt Harfst was born May 18, 1908 in Ledyard, the daughter of Henry R. Wendt and Minnie Schierbeck Wendt. On Feb. 16, 1927, Etta was united in marriage to Fred Hurst. Fred and Etta lived in Muscatine for many years with their three sons. Etta will be deeply missed by two sons; Richard Harfst and his wife, Shirley, of Stockton, Calif., Donald Harfst and his wife, Gerri, of Ankeny; one daughter-in-law, Kay Harfst of Webster City; two sisters, Leta Trimpe and Lucille Trimpe, both of Havana, Ill.; one brother, Robert Wendt, of Havana, Ill.; five grandchildren, Deborah, Alan, Karin, Kent and Kyle; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
