GLADYS McCLEARY MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gladys M. McCleary, 75, of Muscatine, died Friday, November 5, 2004, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Chaplain Dave King of the Amenity Hospice will officiate. Honorary bearers will be Kimberly Guck, Amanda McCleary, Stephanie Guck, Megan Guldenpfennig, Betsy McCleary and Sara Grace McCleary. Casket bearers will be Kevin Guck, Kyle Guldenpfennig, Chad McCleary, Jake McCleary, Robert McCleary, Jim McCleary, Terry McCleary and Lauren Fisher. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Amenity Hospice Program in care of Gladys's family. Gladys was born on January 22, 1929, in Taunton, Massachusetts, the daughter of John and Gladys Kilcup Lovell. She married Jess D. McCleary on April 10, 1955, in South Boston, Massachusetts. McCleary and wife, Mary Jane, of Fruitland, Ann M. Guck and husband, Tom, of Muscatine, Leo R. McCleary and wife, Sara, of Muscatine, Janet L. Guldenpfennig and husband, Mitch, of Letts, and Brian S. McCleary and wife, Joan, of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren, Chad McCleary, Kimberly Guck, Jacob McCleary, Amanda McCleary, Stephanie Guck, Kyle Guldenpfenning, Kevin Guck, Megan Guldenpfenning, Betsy McCleary and Sara Grace McCleary; three brothers, Frank Lovell and wife, Bernadette, Gerald Lovell and wife, Jean, and John Lovell and wife, Suzanne, all of Massachusetts; and two sisters, Ellen Mahaney of Massachusetts and Ruth Williams of Rhode Island. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on October 19, 2003, and one sister, Rosemary.
