Robert Berger WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Robert E. Berger, 79, of West Liberty, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Branch. Visitation: 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or to West Liberty Fire and Rescue. Bob was born Aug. 2, 1925 in Haggerstown, Md., the son of George and Faye Heacock Berger. He graduated from West Branch High School in 1945. He was united in marriage to Beverly Irey on Jan. 24, 1948 in West Branch. Bob and Beverly were married for 57 years and enjoyed a special and close relationship. He farmed in the Centerdale area from 1948 to 1963. He also worked as the Fertilizer Plant Manager for Amoco in Nichols from 1963 to 1983, and then for Con-Agra for 4 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and the West Liberty Country Club. He was also a member of the West Branch Wapsinonoc Masonic Lodge where he was a Master Mason and past Worshipful Master. tching sporting events of all kinds. Bob's girls and grandkids were his pride and joy. He never missed a sporting event they were in whether it was at home or out of town. Bob with his kind and loving ways will be so greatly missed by his family and will live on in their hearts forever. Survivors include his wife Beverly; two daughters: Virginia "Ginni" Berger and Teresa Ruess and son-in-law Terry, all of West Liberty; two grandchildren, Jaime Lyn Ruess and Ryan Ruess, both of West Liberty, and a brother in law, Billy Campion, of Tipton.
