astor of the Louisa Center Church in rural Louisa County for 25 years. After he resigned from Louisa Center he went on to teach English at Wapello High School for another 20-plus years. He loved the outdoors. He had a great passion to enjoy nature's beauty. He and his family made several trips to some of the more famous nation parks. Among them were Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. But his real passion lay in teaching God's Word. While at Moody, he was challenged to be a man who stands in the gap and rightly handles the Word of truth, 2 Tim. 2:15. He enjoyed gardening and anything he could do with his hands. He was an active member of Grandview Community Bible Church and a member of the Moody Alumni Association. His ready wit and depth of knowledge of the scriptures will be missed. His love will endure in the hearts of those left behind. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Gabet and husband Ray of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mary Chavez and husband Edwin of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Bill Moon and wife Brigette of Woodland, Calif., and Daniel N. Moon and wife Rebecca of Aurora, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Barbara McCaulley of Walnut Creek, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Christina; a half-brother, Harvey; and two sisters.
