d being able to assist people in finding their way around in the hospital, delivering flowers to patients and visiting with them, too, as she never met a stranger. Alice was also there willing to help others with a bright smile on her face. She enjoyed her sports, and you could find her glued to the TV on any Thursday night or Sunday afternoon cheering for the University of Texas Longhorns or Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed her San Antonio Spurs as well as cheering the University of Texas and Baylor University girls' basketball teams. She even had a passion for NASCAR and if you gave her a chance she loved to talk about her favorite driver, #48 Jimmie Johnson. Alice is survived by her two daughters Jackie Pittman and Brenda Pittman Gustafson, and son-in-law Mark and granddaughter Laura. She is survived by her sister Jane Verinder and her husband Dick of Washington, TX as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Alice is also survived by her "adopted daughters" Christy Harrell and husband Jason and their two sons Caleb and Zac and Starlyn Aurit and husband Jon and their two daughters, Ashley and Kalei. Alice is predeceased by her three siblings, Evelyn Hammock, Howard Pollan and Bill Pollan. Her family would like to say a special thank you to Kathy Garza, Director of Resident Care at The Village on the Park Onion Creek and her staff for providing excellent care for Alice when she lived in the assistant living area. To her "angel in the baseball cap", Chad Noyes of Three Oaks Hospice, thank you for your love as well as taking such good care of Alice and her family on her journey to heaven. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 6th at 11:00 AM at Live Oak Cemetery, 10739 Twin Creek Road, Manchaca, TX.
