Leonard, 52, West Branch, formerly of Nome, Alaska and West Liberty, died suddenly Friday, March 18, 2005, at his home. After the visitation, at his request, his body will be cremated. A memorial fund has been established. Mr. Leonard was born Jan. 5, 1953, in Iowa City, the son of John and Marilyn Ditmars Leonard. He married Brenda Wright in Tipton. He lived in West Liberty in his early years before his family moved to Alaska. He was a graduate of Nome, Alaska High School. He and his wife lived in Nome for many years where he worked to build the Alaskan Pipeline before moving to West Branch several years ago. Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Marilyn Cota and husband Joaquin of West Branch and Sue Grove of Fargo, N.D.; two brothers, John Leonard and wife Dorothy of Palmer, Alaska and Mark Leonard of Nome. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Archie and Emma Ditmars. [more]
