Iris Conklin IOWA CITY, Iowa #45;- Iris I. Conklin, 91, Iowa City, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Lone Tree Health Care Center, Lone Tree, after a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Lone Tree. The Rev. Cathy Whitlatch will officiate the services. Casket bearers are Doug Bean, Jeff Bean, Andy Conklin, Joel Schintler, Steve Harris and Michael Seeber. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation: 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Mrs. Conklin was born Oct. 15, 1913, in Riverside, the daughter of Joseph H. and Mildred Hawthorn Linsley. She married William 'Dick' Conklin July 2, 1931, in Iowa City. She was a 1931 graduate of Riverside High School. She lived the majority of her life in Lisbon, then moved to Iowa City in 1971. She worked as a bookkeeper at Cornell College and also Eicher Florist, Iowa City. She was a member of Lisbon United Methodist Church and the Lisbon American Legion Auxiliary. Bean and husband, Richard, of Ainsworth; five grandchildren, Doug Bean and wife, Janice, of Westerville, Ohio, Angie Harris and husband, Steve, of Iowa City, Jeff Bean and fiancée, Genea, of Wellman, Sydney Ann Conklin of Lake Forest and Andrew M. Conklin of Chicago; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces, Marilyn Burich of Iowa City and Evelyn Hylbak of Mount Vernon; and three nephews, Gale Baldridge of Columbus, Ohio, Richard Conklin of Wickenberg, Ariz., and Robert Conklin of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Laurel Angelsberg and Joy Neal; and two brothers, Dale and Carl Linsley.
