Harrison Bennett Jr. Services were: March 31, 2005, Philadelphia Baptist Church. JONESBORO, Ark. #45;- Harrison Thomas Bennett Jr., 72, Jonesboro, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at his residence. The Rev. Lewis Gentry officiated the services. Casket bearers were Danny Turner, Charles Witt, Tim Witt, Warren Gallion, Bob Ivy, Raymond Elder and John Broadway. Burial was at Philadelphia Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home, Jonesboro, was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Bennett was born in Newport. He was a graduate of Newport High School and attended the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and played on the Razorback football team for one year. After his freshman year, he transferred to Ouachita Baptist University, where he lettered in football for three years. A U.S. Army veteran, he moved to Jonesboro in 1976, was a retired farmer and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
