onicle, always starting out by reading the obituaries, as he would say, "to make sure I'm not listed in them." He would then gravitate to the comics, which were as important to him as local, state or national news. His deep faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was known to everyone. When asked how he was, his constant refrain was, "I'm just trying to get more spiritually inclined." Also, when hearing a report of good news, he would often shout, "Glory!" Robert's constant study of the scriptures and his spiritual example will be remembered by all who knew him. Though battling memory loss in his later years, he would constantly recite how he was introduced to his wife (on their blind date) and the names of his five children, from oldest to youngest. Robert was a meek and gentle soul, who would always find the good in people; he was always interested in the lives and concerns of others, rather than his own.
