Jean Maxson MUSCATINE, Iowa - Jean M. Maxson, 79, of Muscatine, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at her home. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Sharon Phillips of the Jesus Mission will officiate the services. Casket bearers will be Chris Varo, Steve Marks, Bruce Fuller, John Haskins, Larry Brossart and Curt Beeding. Honorary bearers will be Warren Clark and Paul Schumacher. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice. Jean was born on May 17, 1926, in Muscatine, the daughter John and Nora Foster Houseman. She married Eldon J. Maxson on February 27, 1948, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1966. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She worked at Thatcher Tubes for 27 years retiring in 1989. Maxson of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Jodi Maxson, Eric Maxson, DeWayne Maxson, Dustin Maxson, Dena Maxson, Cody Maxson, Julie Varo, Jennifer McGlothlen and Jason Smith; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Bliven of Muscatine.
