Mrs. Michael Nathanson

Michael H. Nathanson died Saturday morning, April 3, 2021. She was born in Augusta, Georgia, October 11, 1947. Mike and Gary met as undergraduates at the University of Houston in the 1960s. They eventually married March 7, 1970. Mike leaves behind her husband, Gary and their two children Coby and Zachary along with Coby's two children Caroline and Matthew and Coby's husband Frank McElroy. Mike was always proud of her children, Coby and Zachary and their accomplishments. This included her love for her two grandchildren. Early in Mike's marriage she and her husband Gary were teachers in San Benito, Texas. She later was a teacher in Robstown, Texas while she and Gary worked their way through graduate school at Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. They eventually moved to Houston in 1973 where Mike began working for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she retired from as Director of the Scholarship Program. Mike was an avid reader and writer. She was the editor of a statewide magazine for the Association of Water Board Directors - Texas for nearly 40 years. ted her for voracious appetite for reading and television game shows along with her wit, wisdom, generosity of spirit. She was always a caring listener who encouraged people. She listened more than she talked. She was always polite and considerate of others and had an impeccable sense of propriety, good manners and etiquette. Michael will be missed greatly. Her passing has left a vacuum that cannot be filled.
