Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2006, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2006, at the funeral home. Max H. Colberg, 69, of Muscatine, died Friday, January 6, 2006, at his hime. Reverend Michael E. Bales of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate. A luncheon will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, Muscatine, following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the family in care of Phyllis Colberg. Max was born on July 5, 1936, in Muscatine, the son of Lyle and Dorothy Howard Colberg. He married Phyllis A. Brewer on July 16, 1955, in Aledo, Illinois. He was a fireman at the Muscatine Fire Department and after his retirement from the fire department, he worked for V.H. Willis. Max loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis A. Colberg, of Muscatine; four daughters, Maxine Johnson of Muscatine, Kim Shoultz and her husband Max of Muscatine, Dawn Kaska and husband Duane of Muscatine, and Brenda Wagaman and husband Sharm of Wilton; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; th...[more]
