Emma Lou Gay Davis, was born October 25, 1924, in Troup County, GA, to the late Minnie Sherman Gay and the late Alfonzo Gay.
Skeet, as she was affectionately known, quietly and peacefully, departed her earthly home on August 28, 2010 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.
She worked at Callaway Gardens Bakery until her retirement in 1987.
She joined Smith Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age.
Emma was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. E. C. Davis, Sr. on December 17, 1937.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are five daughters; Mary E. (Willie) Maddox, Jessica Lawrence, Dorothy Satterwhite, Mary L. (Fred) Sanders, Emma Smith, two sons; Nathan Davis, E. C. Davis, Jr., one sister; Lois Davenport, two brothers; James (Johanna)
Williams, Frank Sherman, sister-in-laws; Evelyn Sherman, Josie Gay, Mary Knight, Sarah Silver, twenty five grandchildren, fifty one great grandchildren, two great -great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a very dear and loving cousin; Charlie Knight.
