Wayne Wachs

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, Shooting Park Road Baptist Church, Peru, Ill. Visitation: 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, church. Wayne Wachs, 50, LaSalle, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru. The Rev. Ival Robinson will officiate the services. Burial will be at St. Vincent's Cemetery, LaSalle, with military rites conducted by the LaSalle/Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. The Burgess Funeral Home, LaSalle, is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Wachs was born Aug. 12, 1955, in Muscatine, the son of Wayne and Beatrice Cozak Wachs. He married Linda Delagarza on Aug. 8, 1981, in Ottawa, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a truck driver for Luckey Trucking, Streator, Ill., and a member of Shooting Park Road Baptist Church, Peru. Survivors include his wife; his mother of LaSalle; two daughters, Jessica Wachs of Peru and Jennifer Gibson and husband Steve of McNabb, Ill.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Craig Wachs of LaSalle and Brian Wachs and wife Jill of DePue, Ill.; and two sisters, Cindy Wachs of Mark, Ill. and Lisa Wachs of LaSalle. He was preceded in death by his father in 1992 and one niece. [more]
