Oela Griffin

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Oela Griffin, 93, Colorado Springs, formerly of Muscatine, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at Medalion Health Care Center, Colorado Springs. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels. Memorials may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 or Medalion Health Care Center, 1719 E. Bijou St., Colorado Springs, CO 80909. Mrs. Griffin was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of William and Martha Summey Keeble. She married Robert L. Griffin on Sept. 21, 1967, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in November 1995. She resided in Colorado Springs since 1969. She was a bookkeeper, homemaker and a member of the Colorado Springs Women's Bowling Association and the Penrose Community Hospital Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include three daughters, Bettye Carlisle and husband Lindy of Palatka, Fla., Linda Husband and husband Robert and Susan McLaughlin and husband Jack, all of Colorado Springs; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchild...[more]
