Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, Zion Lutheran Church, Ogden. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today, Carson Funeral Home, Ogden. Howard John Junck, 90, a longtime Boone County farmer and lifelong resident, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames. The Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate the services. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Carson Funeral Home to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch of Minot, N.D. or Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Junck was born July 23, 1915, in Ogden, the son of John and Katherine Ehlers Junck. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Pearson on March 22, 1942, in Des Moines. She preceded him in death Feb. 7, 1999. He and his wife, along with their three children, built the family's Iowa Century Farm to more than 1,000 acres. He was an avid antique tool and antique cane collector and he also enjoyed traveling with his wife. They were lifelong members of Zion Lutheran Church. He had two brothers and six sisters.
