Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, First Baptist Church, Aledo, Ill. Visitation: 3-8 p.m. today, Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Jerry A. Nelson, 25, Aledo, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Galesburg, Ill., as a result of a one-vehicle accident. The Rev. Mark Bartman will officiate. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Clayton Nelson Education Fund established at the funeral home. He was born Aug. 3, 1980, in Aledo, the son of Gary and Cheryl Miller Nelson. He married Brook A. Finch on April 7, 2001, at First Baptist Church, Aledo. He graduated from Sherrard High School. He was employed as a heavy machine operator for Vesta Guard and Son. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his friends and family especially his son, Clayton.
