Alvina Delperdang

A funeral Mass for Alvina Delperdang, 94 of Bancroft, was held Friday, April 39,th at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft with burial at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. Alvina Josephine Delperdang was born June 28, 1926, in West Bend, daughter of John and Helena (Zeimet) Kemna. She grew up in West Bend graduating from West Bend High School in 1944. She was married to Gordon Delperdang on January 15, 1947, at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. They lived in Cleveland, OH and Lafayette, TN for a short time before moving back to Bancroft. Alvina did home babysitting for a short time and then worked at Welp's Hatchery for 22 years. She loved playing cards, crocheting, and sewing. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church active in the Altar Society and the C.D. of A. She also was a Cub Scout leader in earlier years, a member of the Bancroft American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Kitchen Klatter Band. In August of 2020, she moved to her daughter Susan's home in Mason City. She died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Mercy One North Iowa Hospice Unit in Mason City at the age of 94. nchester, Ralph (Janet) Delperdang of Burnsville, MN, David (Judy) Delperdang of Clear Lake, Susan Johnson of Mason City, and Alan (Allison) Delperdang of Bancroft; five grandchildren, Scott (Cheri) Delperdang of Manchester, Teri (Brian) Schweiger of Minneapolis, MN, Diane Palm of Chaska, MN, Geoffrey (Edounou) Delperdang of New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Dylan Delperdang of Bancroft; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Nick Schweiger of Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by a brother John (Randee) Kemna, sisters-in-laws Bobbi Kemna, Doris Kemna and Marie Kemna; a brother-in-law, Arthur Delperdang of Camden, SC; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon on May 21, 1997; a daughter Carol Delperdang on July 15, 1954 at 21 months; four sisters, Bernadette Kemna, Joanne Kemna, Irene (John) Rosenstiel and Rosemary Dudding; and five brothers - Albert Kemna, Joe Kemna, Lawrence Kemna, Leo (Bonnie) Kemna, and Harold Kemna.
