Robert 'Bob' Schmidt ATALISSA, Iowa -- Robert L. "Bob" Schmidt, 62, Atalissa, died Friday, May 12, 2006, at his home. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, 2907 Mulberry Ave., Muscatine. The Rev. Lynn Thiede will officiate. Casket bearers are Everett Clester, Orval Esmoil, Mike Esmoil, Lance Wieskamp, Darin Wolf and Eric Baker. Honorary casket bearers are Bob Wieskamp, Jerry Jepson, Don Passmore and Evelyn Hinkhouse. Burial will be at Overman Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Fire Station in Atalissa. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Schmidt was born July 18, 1943, in Fort Meade, Md., the son of Robert and Leila Harris Schmidt. He married Cynthia Skidmore on Jan. 2, 1973, in Palmyra, Mo. He was employed at HON Industries for 33 years as a supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, camping, NASCAR racing and spending time with his family and friends.
