Maynard Sexton APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -- Maynard H. Sexton, 82, Apache Junction, formerly of Lone Tree, died Oct. 19, 2005, at Hospice of the Valley, Mesa, Ariz. Graveside Memorial Service will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2006, at the Lone Tree Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Lone Tree American Legion Post 457. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Maynard Sexton memorial fund. The Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is handling the arrangements. Mr. Sexton was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of Harry T. and Agnes E. Jensen Sexton. He married Jean L. Westfall on Oct. 26, 1945, on her parents' farm in Iowa City. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II from February 1943 to November 1945 attaining the rank of buck sergeant. He was a World War II P.O.W., captured in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and was liberated in 1945. He worked for Proctor and Gamble as a maintenance manager. Paturzo and husband Patrick of Mesa and Benjamin D. Sexton and wife Tina of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Anthony J. Paturzo and Zachary B. Paturzo; five brothers, George C. Sexton and wife Althea of Highland, Calif., John L. Sexton and wife Dorothy of Lone Tree, Lawrence H. Sexton and wife Marilyn of Downey, Robert T. Sexton of West Branch and Paul H. Sexton and wife Myrtle of West Branch; a sister, Laura M. Slach of West Branch; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Sexton of West Branch; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roscoe J. Sexton and Frank W. Sexton.
