ETHEL MAY NORTHEY MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ethel May Northey, 96, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Gilbert, former Wesley United Methodist Church pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake, Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2006, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or the Excelsior Methodist church. Ethel May was born on April 29, 1910, in Milford, the son of Albert J. and Carrie Thompson Northey. Ethel May was a teacher in the Muscatine Community School System for 37 years serving as principal at Grant School for many years. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sisters, Letitia Lawson of Milford and Helen Sietsema of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gilbert and Claude Northey and three sisters, Faye Goodell, Ruth Johnson, and Jessie Williams. [more]
