Caroll Gordy DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Caroll L. Gordy, 77, Davenport, died Monday, June 19, 2006, at Davenport Lutheran Home, after a brief illness. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Casket bearers are Paul Brace, Dave Funk, Don Grensing, Bryce Kehn, Terry McGee and Ned Walling. Honorary casket bearers are members of the "Old Muskie Club". Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family or Faith United Methodist Church. Mr. Gordy was born July 25, 1928, in Muscatine, the son of Thomas H. and Blanche C. Bartenhagen Gordy. He married Evelyn L. Martin on Aug. 16, 1952, in Mount Pleasant. He served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly a high school teacher. After that, he was employed for 42 years by Firestone/Bridgestone, retiring in 1990. Morris and fiancé Ken Andresen of Davenport; a son, Tim Gordy and wife Becky of Kansas City, Kan.; granddaughters, Renee Rose and fiancé Beau Allen of Davenport and Hilda Gundrum of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Maryah and Nakia; a sister, Charlene O'Brien of Muscatine; and two brothers, John Gordy and Ron Gordy, both of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary.
