Ronald Lee "Quack" Green, 56, Washington, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at his family's cabin on the Iowa River after a heart attack. The Rev. Ron Good will officiate. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington. Memorials have been established for Delta Waterfowl or Washington County Conservation Board. Mr. Green was born April 22, 1950, in Washington, the son of John H. and Betty L. Gundy Green. He married Pam Norman on Dec. 3, 1977, in Wellman. He graduated from Washington High School in 1968 and later graduated from Burlington Junior College in 1970. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County. He worked his entire life in agricultural related fields. He worked the past seven years in swine procurement for Jimmy Dean Foods. He was previously a livestock auctioneer and ran Green's Auction Service for a number of years. Stuttgart, Ark. He was also the Grand Champion Iowa State Auctioneer in 1975 and place fourth in the National Auctioneering Championship in Lancaster, Pa. He was formerly a youth baseball coach in Washington. He was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Duck's Unlimited. Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Green and Tim Lowe, both of Washington; a daughter, Tammera Lowe of Davenport; his mother, Betty L. Green Eyestone of Washington; a brother, J. Russell Green and wife Kathleen of Omaha, Neb.; four nephews; two nieces; one great-nephew; and his father-in-law, William Norman. He was preceded in death by his father in 1993; and his mother-in-law, Patricia Norman in 1985.
