Hilda Johnson There will be no funeral services or visitation. Hilda O. Johnson, 81, Iowa City, formerly of Sigourney, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Windmill Manor, Coralville, after an extended illness. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated and her cremains will be scattered in Germany at a later date. The Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is handling the arrangements. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson was born July 31, 1924, in Karlsruhe, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Anna Marie Fritz Lehmann. She married Carl Oscar Johnson in June 1951, in Germany. She and her husband moved to the United States in 1953. She was a homemaker who enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and playing the harmonica. She spent many years dancing and making friends at the Airliner, Iowa City, where she was known as the "Airliner Lady". Survivors include a son, Rick Johnson of Los Angeles; three daughters, Anita Henrichs and husband Kenneth of Dexter, Linda Eden and husband Loren of Lone Tree and Gloria Johnston and husband Bob of Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
