Merle Warner Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, funeral home. Merle L. Warner, 78, Clinton, formerly of Muscatine, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at his home. Casket bearers are Bill Miller, Ray Miller, Kris Warner, Eric Bell, Steven Warner and Jacob Brown. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Warner was born July 19, 1928, in Muscatine, the son of Leonard and Alice Trader Warner. He married Jo Ann Burns on June 6, 1953, in Muscatine. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had worked at Thatcher Glass, Oscar Meyer, Kelly Ladder and International Harvester, East Moline, Ill. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton. He was also a member Veterans Foreign Wars Post 7403, Marion, Ind., where he had served as post commander for several years and held offices in District 5. He had been a member of the CB Radio Club in Muscatine. He enjoyed camping, fishing and races. nd Gregory Warner and wife Carla of Madison, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lora Behm of Bodfish, Calif.; a brother, Marlyn Warner and wife Betty of Wautoma, Wis.; and a stepbrother, Earl Laws of Silver Springs, Mass. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
